Ephemera
Journal, Volume I
In 1987, the Ephemera Society published the first volume of Ephemera
Journal. Those members of the society who were interested in sharing
information about ephemera envisaged a publication devoted to both
a scholarly and popular discussion of the origins, production, uses,
and studies of ephemera.
Volume I, a first step, dealt with the origins of ephemera. Highly
illustrated articles, many of which include color depictions, feature
discussions of Rewards of Merit cards, carrier addresses, trade
cards, stickers, Louis Prang, and California orange crate labels.
In addition, the first issue of Ephemera Journal I contained a
full color poster, entitled "This is Ephemera," tipped in at the
beginning of the volume.
Originals available for $12.00 plus $1.50
for postage. Order from the Ephemera Society of America, PO Box
95, Cazenovia, NY 13035 or visit the online
